‘90s spycraft reimagined
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 is a highly anticipated action game that thrusts players into a world of espionage and high-stakes heists. Set in the tumultuous early 90s, the narrative is reminiscent of other iterations of the iconic Call of Duty®: Black Ops series but with deeper spy elements and political intrigue.
Comparatively, like its predecessor, Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War, it seamlessly blends historical settings with a gripping narrative. However, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 introduces enhanced multiplayer experiences and fresh zombies content, ensuring an unparalleled and immersive experience.
Post-Cold War chaos
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 plunges players into the early '90s, a transformative era following the end of the Cold War. The installment delivers an electrifying single-player campaign, world-class multiplayer options, and the return of the beloved Round-Based Zombies mode. The single-player campaign offers a heart-pounding experience, with each mission packed full of cinematic action and thrilling missions that keep players engaged from start to finish.
On the multiplayer front, the game stands out with 16 brand-new maps available at launch. Players can battle it out on 12 core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps, designed to support both 2v2 and 6v6 modes for varied and intense combat scenarios. Challenging fans with relentless waves of the undead, the Zombies mode launches with two new maps and promises even more content in future updates.
For those keen to jump in early, pre-ordering any digital edition grants early access to the Open Beta. Additionally, players receive the Woods Operator Pack, which includes the Classic Woods Operator Skin for use in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III and Call of Duty®: Warzone™. Keep in mind, though, that there’s always the inherent risk of post-launch issues that could affect the overall player experience.
Anti-toxicity tools
With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the Call of Duty team enhanced the technology responsible for addressing disruptive behavior to conform with the Call of Duty Conduct. This is a move to build a positive and overall better community for all the players, allowing them to enjoy the game free of toxicity through the updated anti-toxicity tools.
One of the said anti-toxicity tools includes Voice and Text Moderation Systems. Similar to the systems already in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, this highlights an AI-driven voice moderation tool for various languages, such as English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Meanwhile, text moderation covers in-game chat and usernames in 20 languages. The systems are established to keep the players' competitive spirit without resorting to targeted harassment and derogatory language.
Call of Duty has teamed up with Community Sift to improve text moderation since Modern Warfare's release in 2019, continuously expanding support to various languages. They’ve also streamlined the process for handling username reports, making it more efficient. As a result of these proactive efforts, they’ve successfully blocked over 45 million inappropriate messages since November 2023, helping to reduce players' exposure to disruptive behavior.
Stealth, sabotage, and survival
To sum up, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 promises an expansive and immersive experience, blending historical intrigue with cutting-edge gameplay. Both the single-player campaign and multiplayer gameplay offer diverse and engaging content, while the Zombies mode provides a familiar yet fresh thrill. However, as with any pre-release, there is always the potential for unforeseen issues, as well as possible changes to the full version of the game.
